The medallion motif
The medallion pattern can be floral or geometric, or even whimsical: it’s usually a concentric formation of different motifs repeated on the tie.
The advantage is that the pattern is very elaborate, and will often be easy to wear in a sartorial outfit, or even in a business outfit if the colors are sober.
With its dark blue background and light pattern, this tie is quite versatile: it can provide contrast to a light suit, but can also be worn without worry with a dark suit.
