Patterns and styling tips
The paisley motif
Paisley was mostly worn by the son of a good family, first in England but also in Ivy League families. It was one of the few ties whose pattern was considered whimsical but acceptable in a casual setting.
These days, reserve imposing paisleys for outfits with tweed and flannel, and indulge your business outfits with more discreet patterns.
It’s balanced here between sober shades of green and flashy pink, making this tie very versatile: wearable with tweed in winter or lighter colors in summer.
