The Paisley motif
Paisley was mostly worn by the son of a good family, first in England but also in Ivy League families. It was one of the few ties whose pattern was considered whimsical but acceptable in a casual setting.
Here, however, this wide Paisley remains fairly sober and can be worn with flannel and stripes, in a very businesslike style.
